Celebrate this year’s Iowa State Homecoming and raise the profile of academic excellence by applying for the $500 Cardinal Court Scholarship.

Applicants must have an ISU cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher and a minimum of 90 credits.  Applicants will be judged on their character, academic achievement, dedication to the university and city of Ames, and two short essay questions. Current Student Alumni Leadership Council executive committee members are ineligible.  Members of the Ambassadors, Senior Class Council, and Cyclone Alley committees may apply.

Applications are due Monday, October 4th at 4pm.  Three copies of completed applications can be turned in to Cecilia Dunlay on the first floor of the ISU Alumni Center. 

Tuesday, October 12th (5:00pm-8:30pm): Ten finalists will be selected (5 males, 5 females) and finalist interviews will take place .

Saturday, October 23rd: The winning Homecoming King and Queen will be announced on the SALC Homecoming website. 

Thursday, October 28th: Scholarship winners presented with sashes at the Battle of the Bands

Friday, October 29th: The King and Queen along with the Cardinal Court will be announced and presented at the pep rally. Cardinal Court will be recognized with a congratulatory Cardinal Court certificate.

The two winners will also be announced before kickoff of the Homecoming game on Saturday, October 30th and are asked to be available to attend the Alumni Tailgate prior to the game. Both will receive a $500 scholarship that day. 

In addition, the King and Queen have the opportunity to participate in the VEISHEA parade.

NOTE: Qualification for this scholarship is now having at least 90 credits and a 3.0 GPA or higher, NOT specifically 90 ISU credits.
